Exploration income

Poasting old stuff crew checking in. Before the NC died I did exploration for income for about a year and a half. I ended up using two characters, one with a scout/scanner/tank tengu and the other with a golem for DPS. In July of last year I started keeping track of weekly income with the intent to make a graph at some point.

Here's the graph.

Income from exploration is highly variable, but I usually made a minimum of 100m/h. My best run was 400m/h averaged over 10 hours, and my worst was 40m/h averaged over 8 hours, which was a really impressive outlier.

Guristas are shit for exploration. I don't even like to think how much more isk I could have made doing angels or sansha instead.

  1. Did you include the time to scan and find the sigs in your average?

By the way, I'm glad you're not quitting yet. I really enjoy your blog and I hope you'll keep us updated with your commentary on 0.0 events, even though you won't be part of it :-)

  2. Scanning time is included in the average, yes. I still get sad when I think about all those times I went hours without finding anything good.

Fortunately, those were usually followed by a nice drop or two which brought my average to around 100 for the day.

I have a guideline that I post about things which I experience first hand or which affect me in a meaningful way. To do 0.0 commentary now I would have to watch kugu and do the armchair bittervet thing, which isn't a role I'm interested in taking.

So, little or no 0.0 commentary will be forthcoming for the foreseeable future. Sorry.
